The Concerts of the International Alba White Truffle Fair

At 11 am

Chiesa di San Giuseppe

Alba Music Festival presents CLASSICA, the Sunday morning concerts, under the artistic direction of Giuseppe Nova and Jeff Silberschlag.

Seven musical events mark the Sundays of the International Alba White Truffle Fair and represent a space of pleasure and culture, dedicated to lovers of classical music, in one of the periods of greatest interest and attraction for the territory.

Classical music could not remain outside such a prestigious event with great international appeal as the Fair. The CLASSICA programme, with chamber ensembles and top level soloists, is addressed to the several enthusiasts who regularly follow Alba Music Festival and, at the same time, it completes the rich calendar of the city by providing, through the universal language of music, a further source of attraction to the ever increasing international tourism that visits the territory.

The 2018 edition will host a concert with the presence of Maxence Larrieu, considered one of the most important flutists of this century, a legendary figure who has given an extraordinary boost to the music and repertoire of his instrument.

The inauguration on 7th October will see the presence of the Spanish soprano Lidia Basterretxea Vila, the soprano Marina Malavasi and Giulio Mercati on the organ, in a suggestive program from Baroque to Romanticism. Soon after Maxence Larrieu and Giuseppe Nova and Shigeko Tojo who will perform on 14th October, a well-known four-handed piano duo formed by Marco Sollini and Salvatore Barbatano are scheduled on 21st October. Then again, on 28th October piano will be played in a Chopin recital by the Polish pianist Joanna Trzeciak.  The chamber concert on 4th November is yet to be defined, while on 11th November we will host the Spanish violinist Joaquin Palomares with Albert Giménez on the piano and, on 18th November the event will come to an end with The soloist of the Orchestra Sinfonica di Sanremo.

Admission to concerts, with ticket office, provides different formulas of access, making the seat reservation easier, also for the benefit of the foreigners in Alba. There are price reductions for the Amici di Alba Music Festival (Friends of Alba Music Festival), as well as free admission for kids under 10 years of age.

Concerts are held in the central Church of San Giuseppe, in Piazzetta Vernazza in Alba, and are made in collaboration with Centro Culturale San Giuseppe.
