Alta Langa DOCG: Piedmont’s Traditional Method Sparkling Wine

An engaging and interactive tasting experience dedicated to discovering Alta Langa DOCG, the oldest Traditional Method sparkling wine in Italy, born in Piedmont in the mid-19th century and now among the most fascinating expressions of Italian winemaking.

Through a blind tasting journey, participants will be invited to explore different interpretations of the denomination, putting their senses to the test and being guided by aromas, scents, and sensations. An experience that combines playfulness, curiosity, and insight, offering a closer understanding of the identity and long history of these outstanding sparkling wines.

Guided by AIS Piemonte speakers (Italian Sommelier Association), participants will delve into the defining characteristics of this wine: starting from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, the long aging on the lees in the bottle, its freshness, structure, and the connection to the high-hill territories where it is produced. Four glasses, four interpretations, four distinct stories to discover.

A sensory journey through an extraordinary territory, capturing the many nuances of Alta Langa DOCG and understanding its authenticity, one sip at a time.

Founded in 1897 on the initiative of Federico Eusebio, the Museum was originally established exclusively as a historical and archaeological collection. In 1976, it was moved to its current location and expanded with new sections illustrating the natural history of the local area. With its new exhibition layout, the heritage of the original archaeological museum has been enriched by artefacts unearthed during excavations carried out over the last 30 years, which have significantly advanced our understanding of both prehistoric settlements and the Roman city. As a whole, the Museum offers the most comprehensive overview possible of the local environment, tracing its evolution through both natural and historical perspectives.
