Leonardo Da Vinci: the Genius. Exhibition of the Tavola Lucana   attributed to Leonardo Da Vinci

The Tavola Lucana, also known as the Portrait of Acerenza after the place where it was discovered, is a panel depicting a portrait of Leonardo da Vinci, found in 2009 and attributed to the Maestro.

The painting is a very significant element in reconstructing the appearance of Leonardo’s face.

The panel, in fact, shows the face and bust of Leonardo in three-quarter profile, with a hat on his head and solves, after about five centuries, the querelle on the features of Leonardo. The painting can be dated back around the turn of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, which allows the public a valuable testimony relating to the artistic and human events of Leonardo.
