The recovery of a historic grape variety, the enhancement of Piedmont’s wine biodiversity, and the story of a territory looking to the future while drawing on its roots: the workshop dedicated to Liseiret will be a unique opportunity to discover one of the most fascinating rediscoveries in the regional wine scene.
A journey to discover Liseiret, an ancient native Piedmontese grape variety documented in Alpine and pre-Alpine areas since the Middle Ages, now at the heart of an important recovery and enhancement project. Thanks to its extraordinary adaptability to mountain environments and the growing interest from producers and researchers, Liseiret represents a new opportunity for viticulture in Piedmont’s highlands.
During the workshop, participants will learn about the history of the grape variety, the activities of the Liseiret Producers Association, the studies highlighting its historical and genetic significance, and the future prospects of the project, ranging from biodiversity conservation to the promotion of viticultural heritage and mountain territories.
Following the presentation, guests will have the opportunity to take part in a guided tasting of 4 wines produced from Liseiret grapes, experiencing firsthand the sensory characteristics of this rediscovered variety and appreciating its expression in the glass.
An event dedicated to wine enthusiasts, industry professionals, sommeliers and curious visitors who wish to explore the history and future of a grape variety that symbolizes the mountains of Piedmont.
